Data Analyst | BBG, a.s.

(July 2024 – present)

During my time at Slovnaft, I discovered how much I enjoyed working with data and using it to make better-informed decisions. Pursuing this interest, I joined BBG, a.s. (Berlin Brands Group) as a Data Analyst — an e-commerce company that manages multiple consumer brands and sells thousands of its own products worldwide through direct-to-consumer shops, online marketplaces, and wholesale channels. As a Data Analyst, I had the opportunity to be part of a great and supportive IT team that included both Slovak and German colleagues. Each of them taught me a lot — from server-side infrastructure and DWH & ETL processes to Power BI reporting. My main duties and responsibilities included:

• SQL Development – Creating custom SQL queries to support analytics in Power BI and to feed Dataflows for Lakehouse ingestion, with a goal of leveraging Direct Lake capabilities.
• Data Pipelines & Automation – Designing pipelines in Microsoft Fabric to automate processes, including incremental data updates, reducing manual effort and redundancies.
• Data Engineering – Building and maintaining Delta Tables and leveraging Fabric Notebooks with PySpark and Python for advanced data transformations, such as creating new tables, conducting data analysis, or extracting data from semantic models.
• Power BI – Designing and managing Power BI reports, creating interactive dashboards and advanced DAX measures with focus for Sales, Finance, and Operations teams to drive data-informed decision-making.

Crude Oil Trader | SLOVNAFT, a.s.

(October 2023 – June 2024)

After completing my studies, I joined Slovnaft, a.s. as a Junior Crude Oil Trader. Slovnaft is the only refinery in Slovakia and part of the MOL Group. In this role, I had the opportunity to work in an international setting, regularly collaborating with colleagues from Hungary and Croatia. My main duties and responsibilities included:

• Trading – Issuing crude oil sale offers, setting prices, hedging, negotiating, and closing deals.
• Seaborne Crude Oil Operations – Chartering vessels, managing load/discharge-port clearances, customs, documents, inspections, and invoicing.
• KYC & Partner Management – Implementing KYC procedures, sanctions screening, and providing compliance documentation.
• Market Analysis & Strategy – Conducting market research and presenting findings during weekly meetings.
• Contract Drafting – Preparing contracts for crude oil transactions.
• Back Office Support – Handling SAP tasks (POs, tickets, nominations) and Excel-based data analysis.

Export Ops Intern | TEKMAR, s.r.o.

(February 2022 – June 2022)

As part of my IMC Krems curriculum, I was required to complete an internship at an internationally established company. This led me to a position at TEKMAR, a producer of functional cereal bars with a business model centered around exports. During my five-month tenure, I delved into the export operations of Tekmar, with responsibilities that included:

• Market Analysis – Conducting an in-depth analysis of the Austrian market for the Tekmar brand, which involved assessing market potential, demographics, competition, and entry barriers. This also included hosting meetings and regularly presenting findings.
• Market Entry Strategy Development – Developing recommendations for the optimal market entry strategy, weighing options such as using retailers versus wholesalers, appointing representatives, or opting for distributors, and calculating associated costs.
• Customer Support – Providing support through customer service calls.

English Tutor | MAXIMA, s.r.o.

(January 2019 – June 2021)

In the final years of high school, I worked part-time as an English tutor at MAXIMA, a private language school. This role gave me the opportunity to teach a diverse group of students ranging from children and teenagers to adults. I conducted both individual lessons and group sessions with up to eight participants. My experience at Maxima significantly enhanced my communication skills and taught me to adapt my teaching approach to meet the needs of different learners.
